Displaced

Displaced explores loss and the ungraspable nature of time, memory, and belonging, drawing from personal experiences to reflect on universal themes of transience and transformation. My photographs mediate between the external world and inner emotions, navigating the tension between the desire to understand and the necessity to surrender to the unknowable.

This journey was prompted by the recent loss of my grandmother and a place I considered home, both within a short period of time. In response, I turned to photography and writing as ways to process these overlapping absences. Documenting long hikes through the area during my final visit became a deeply personal method of grieving, connecting to the physical space while exploring the intangible aspects of memory and belonging.

Combining imagery with introspective texts written during the project, the work reflects on what it means to experience loss, seek connection to a place, and find meaning in the intangible. Viewers are invited to wander with me—through visual and textual musings—and discover their own sense of belonging within the shared experience of loss.
