Motif

Motif is a project that explores the often-overlooked details of our bodies: moles. Through photographing multiple individuals and sequencing the images, the work examines the distinct features and intricate patterns found on human skin. These patterns are entirely unique, like one-of-a-kind tattoos.

Yet therein lies a paradox: if everyone is marked by their own unique pattern, uniqueness itself becomes a universal trait, blurring the line between individuality and commonality. By inverting the images, moles become the brightest elements in each composition, drawing attention to the organic patterns that emerge. Skin becomes a living canvas-both intimate and shared.
